Hankang Pocha has made its mark in Singapore, bringing the vibrant and cozy atmosphere of a Korean pocha (street food tent) to the heart of Tanjong Pagar. Known as “The Most Affordable Korean Pocha,” this charming eatery offers a wallet-friendly menu with mains priced under $20, making it a go-to spot for authentic Korean flavors without breaking the bank.
From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by the warm ambiance of wooden furnishings and Korean-inspired decor, creating a casual yet inviting setting. The menu is a treasure trove of comfort food, featuring dishes like Cheese Kimchi Fried Rice, Seafood Pancake, and hearty stews such as Kimchi Stew and Seafood Tofu Stew. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the bold and comforting flavors that Korean cuisine is known for. Hankang Pocha also offers free-flow banchan (side dishes), adding to the value and authenticity of the dining experience.

During our visit, we indulged in a variety of dishes, each carrying its own distinct charm. The Stone Plate Kimchi BBQ stole the show with its bold flavors and perfectly grilled goodness—the tangy, spicy kimchi paired beautifully with the sizzling meats, making it a crowd-pleaser. Similarly, the Soybean Paste Stew was a winner, offering a hearty and comforting bowl of rich umami goodness that warms you from the inside out.

The Stone Bowl Egg Custard was light and silky, a pleasant addition to the spread but nothing particularly groundbreaking. Similarly, the Kimchi Pancake, while crispy and well-prepared, leaned on the simpler side of things—a safe choice for fans of classic flavors.

The surprise highlight of the meal was the free Melona ice cream served at the end, adding a sweet and refreshing touch to the evening. It’s these little details that make Hankang Pocha such a delightful spot to visit—not just for the food, but for the overall experience.
If you’re looking for a casual Korean feast with standout BBQ and stews, Hankang Pocha is a wonderful choice. Just be prepared to enjoy a mix of hits and simpler fare, all in an ambiance that celebrates the heart of Korean street food culture.
